Gift Card Terms

Last Updated: September 15, 2026
Effective Date: September 15, 2026

These Gift Card Terms govern Favly digital and physical gift cards. They supplement our Terms of Service; where the two conflict on a gift-card question, these terms control.

The short version. A Favly gift card is redeemable for services at the salon that issued it. It is not a credit or debit card, it is not reloadable, and no fee is ever deducted from its balance. Depending on the state where it was issued, it may never expire.

1. Who issues your card

Each gift card is issued by an individual salon (the "Issuing Salon") through a gift card program operated on the Favly platform. The Issuing Salon — not Favly — stands behind the balance and is responsible for honouring the card for services.

Favly is the technology provider: we operate the platform that issues, tracks, and redeems the card, and we process the purchase payment. Favly is not the issuer of the card and does not itself promise to provide the services the card is redeemed for.

The Favly platform is operated by Adifice LLC (doing business as Adifice Technologies), an Illinois limited liability company.

2. Where the card can be used

Favly gift cards are closed-loop. A card can be redeemed only at the Issuing Salon, for services or products that salon offers through Favly. A card cannot be used at other salons on the Favly platform, and cannot be used anywhere outside the Favly platform.

Your card names the salon it belongs to. If you are not sure which salon issued your card, open the Favly app or contact us using the details in section 10.

3. Expiration

The life of your card depends on the state in which the Issuing Salon is located, because several states regulate gift-card expiration. The term is set when the card is purchased and does not change afterwards.

Where a state sets a minimum life, we apply whichever is longer — that state minimum or our standard five-year term. A state minimum can only lengthen your card's life, never shorten it.

Federal law (the CARD Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1693l-1) separately provides that a gift certificate generally may not expire within five years of the date funds were last loaded.

The exact expiration date of your card, if it has one, is shown with the card in the Favly app.

4. Fees

No fee of any kind is deducted from your card's balance. Favly does not charge dormancy fees, inactivity fees, service fees, or maintenance fees, and your balance does not decline through non-use. The full face value remains available for the life of the card.

Any platform fee associated with a gift card is charged to the purchaser at the time of purchase and is shown before payment. It is added to the purchase total; it is never taken out of the recipient's balance.

5. Balances, partial use, and cash back

Cards may be used across more than one visit. When a redemption is worth less than the remaining balance, the difference stays on the card. When a service costs more than the balance, you pay the difference by another method.

Except where state law requires otherwise, gift cards are not redeemable for cash and are not refundable.

Cards issued in California are an exception: under Cal. Civ. Code § 1749.5, a card with a remaining balance of under $10 may be redeemed for cash on request. Other states have comparable cash-back rules at varying thresholds; if you believe one applies to your card, contact the Issuing Salon or us.

6. Physical cards

A physical Favly gift card carries a serial number in the format FV-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and a QR code that encodes that same serial.

A physical card is inert until it is activated. A card that has not been activated holds no value, and a blank card that is lost or stolen before activation cannot be redeemed by anyone.

Activating a physical card

Activation requires both you and the salon, at the counter, within the same short window:

  • You scan the card's QR code (or type its serial) in the Favly app, against a gift card you have already purchased.
  • A member of salon staff enters the same serial in the salon's Favly dashboard.
  • When both sides name the same card, the balance is attached to the plastic and the card becomes usable.

If the window closes before both sides have entered the serial, nothing is lost — simply start again. Neither side can activate a card alone.

Lost, stolen, or damaged cards

Treat an activated card like cash. Favly and the Issuing Salon are not responsible for lost or stolen activated cards, and we cannot restore a balance that has been redeemed by someone holding the card.

If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged, contact the Issuing Salon promptly. Because each serial is unique and every redemption is recorded, an unredeemed balance can in many cases be moved to a replacement card at the Issuing Salon's discretion. Report the loss as early as you can — a balance already spent cannot be recovered.

7. Suspected fraud

We may void a card, refuse a redemption, or suspend a gift-card program where we reasonably believe a card was obtained through fraud, an unauthorised payment, or a violation of these terms. Where a card is voided and the purchase was legitimate, we will work with the purchaser and the Issuing Salon on an appropriate remedy.

8. If the Issuing Salon closes

Because the Issuing Salon stands behind the balance, a card's value depends on that salon continuing to operate. If the Issuing Salon leaves the Favly platform or ceases business, we will make reasonable efforts to notify holders of outstanding balances at the contact details we have, and to tell you what options exist. Favly does not guarantee the balance of a card issued by a salon that has ceased to operate. Your rights in that situation are governed by applicable state law, including any unclaimed-property law that may apply.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes apply to cards purchased after the updated terms take effect; they do not shorten the life of, or reduce the balance on, a card already issued. The current version is always at https://www.favly.ai/gift-card-terms.

10. Contact

Questions about a specific card, including balance, expiration, or a lost card, are usually answered fastest by the Issuing Salon. You can also reach us:

These terms describe how Favly gift cards work on our platform. They are not legal advice, and they do not limit any right you have under the law of your state that cannot be waived by agreement.
